In brief: Not normally

These lesion typically cause no significant neurological compromise.
These are usually found incidently. By them selves are not life threatening. But if you develope any symptoms headache, numbness timgling or any neurological symptoms gret evaluated assuming a doctor ordered the scan to determine this follow up wpould be appropriate.

In brief: Chiari - maybe

Arachnoid cysts are benign lesions.
Chiari i malformations, in severe cases, can affect the function of nerves controlling taste, swallowing, tongue movement, shoulder movement. Swelling of the spinal cord can also occur, causing arm weakness and sensory changes. While these findings are not life threatening, they may produce enough dysfunction to increase the risk of falls, aspiration pneumonia.

In brief: Depends

Arachnoid cysts are generally not life threatening but occasionally can enlarge and require surgical intervention.
Chiari i malformations can be quite symptomatic and can rarely be life threatening (they are sometimes associated with syringomyelia). Chiari malformations warrant evaluation by a neurosurgeon.
