Having headaches and I'm 16 weeks pregnant and tylenol (acetaminophen) is not working what else can I take?
Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Advil. Unfortunately, not much. You can safely take advil (ibuprofen) during the second trimester only, but that might help. You do not want to take narcotics or migraine meds while pregnant.
Decongestant. Because the elevated Progesterone in pregnancy can make the blood vessels in your sinuses dilate, you can experience chronic headaches. This is quite common and usually waxes and wanes during pregnancy. A decongestant will usually make the blood vessels constrict and lessen the headaches.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant and had a headache, I took 2 advils instead of tylenols (acetaminophen) by mistake, do I need to get myself checked by a doctor?
Advil (ibuprofen) If you took advil (ibuprofen) let your obgyn know about it. To be safe. Also get your BP checked.
I've had a headache for several days I've tried Tylenol (acetaminophen) it's not working. I'm currently pregnant is it just hormonal?
Very common. Headaches are very common in pregnancy. You're taking the right medication, Tylenol, (acetaminophen). Headaches in the third trimester we can be more serious. Talk to your OB/GYN at your next appointment about your headaches.
I'm 15 weeks pregnant and having very bad migraine headaches. Tylenol (acetaminophen) isn't working at all for me. Is there something safe I can take for some relief?
Talk to your doctor. The next step up would probably be opiods since everything else has adverse effects on the fetus.
I'm pregnant with a bad headache. If I don't have 2 extra strength Tylenol (acetaminophen) (500mg ea) can I take 3 regular strength (325mg ea)?
Yes. It's safe to take Acetaminophen during pregnancy, but it's not recommended to exceed more than 3000 mg a day. It's also advised to avoid taking Acetaminophen frequently unless the headache is really bad, otherwise, you may develop over-use headache. May try relaxation deep breathing, rest in a dark quiet room, or simply ice pak.
Been prescribed nortriptilyne for headaches now found out I'm 5 wks pregnant. Have stopped taking it. Can I still take it or anything else? No Tylenol (acetaminophen)
Headaches. When your pregnant it is best not to take any medicines. You want a healthy happy baby and why risk it with drugs you take in pregnancy. If you think life is miserable now (with a headache) wait until your have a baby who won't go to sleep.
Yes. You can take up to 2000 mg in a day.
Is it safe to take panadol for headache during pregnancy (first month)? Panadol is similar to tylenol (acetaminophen).
Yes. Thanks for the tip. It is safe within its dose range.
Probably safe! Panadol is a acetomenophin drug like Tylenol (acetaminophen) but does NOT have the "safety" profile of Tylenol (acetaminophen)... Why not take the latter? Hope this helps Dr z.
Yes. Panadol (Acetaminophen) is safe to use during pregnancy and may relieve your headache. However, you should not exceed more than 4000 mg per day or more than 1000 mg in any single dose. Do not take repeated dose more often than every 6 to 8 hours.
I'm 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have a huge headache for about 2 days now. Is it safe to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) Extra strength?? Please & Thank you
Safe in right doses. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a safe medication to take in the first trimester. Care should be taken not to take more than recommended dose: not to exceed 1g (two of Extra strength pills) in one dose and 4g (eight of Extra strength pill) in 24 hours.
Yes. Acetomenophen, tylenol, (acetaminophen) is safe in pregnancy as long as you follow the instructions and don't take more than is recommended.
