What causes a 'clicking' noise and sound when you move your shoulder? There is some pain with it and I can't raise my arm without more pain

In brief: Subacromial bursitis
Most likely it is a bursa which is inflamed but there may also be a rotator cuff issue or biciptal tendonitis - if not treated in timely fashion - may result in frozen shoulder - tx.
May be as simple as rest or physical therapy or steroid inj. Or combo of them all.
