Is it really the case that toothpastes gets rid of acnes/pimples?

In brief: Not recommended

I would not be surprised if it did, but i would not recommend it.
If it works it is because it probably just dries out the area due to the ph of the flavoring agents and the Fluoride ion helps to kill bacteria. The potential for particles to clog your pores is too great. There are better treatments for acne that probably cost less than toothpaste.
