What are the causes of tightness and numbness in the lower spine?

Dr. Douglas Linville II
Orthopedic Surgery - Spine

In brief: Muscle tension

Really, nothing to speak of causes only numbness in the lower spine.
All i would surmise would be spasms/tension that could conceivably cause only numbness along with tightness. Address the muscle spasm with stretching, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches, core exercises, and the rest should subside.
