Is yoga recommended / safe at early pregnancy for lower back pain? I had some spotting over the weekend.... Also I am trying to avoid tylenol (acetaminophen).

Yoga in general is safe for women with early pregnancy. Taking a prenatal yoga class helps you to breathe deeply, relaxing your mind and body. If you are taking a regular yoga class, which can be physically demanding, your instructor should be aware of your pregnancy. May want to avoid poses on your ab or back that could reduce blood flow to the uterus.

Yoga can be harmful.
According to glenn black, who taught yoga for 40 years and studied under the "legendary" master bks iyengar, too many people hurt themselves doing it. Look up "how yoga can wreck your body" in the new york times. But low-impact stretching exercises that some might call "yoga" are probably ok. And no reason to fear tylenol (acetaminophen). You might also try ice or heat.
