In brief: A common problem -
- and one that is unlikely to have anything to do with your tubal ligation.
Anyone not using hormonal contraception may experience irregular menses. And, when you think about it, having cycles is not "normal" in the sense that most of our ancestors were pregnant or breastfeeding most of their reproductive lives. Do see an obg doctor about this! your age and other circumstances matter too!

In brief: You aren't ovulating
There is a syndrome called post tubal ligation syndrome, which we believe results from interruption of blood supply to the ovaries.
It may be that that you are experiencing if your cycles have been aberrant since the surgery. It also could reflect a peri-menopausal state with anovulation. You could do a course of oral contraceptives for three to six months to see if you can re-regulate.
