In brief: You

Don't cure gout you control it.
Your dr. Can prescribe medication. A natural remedy would be diet and black cherry capsules.

In brief: Lower uric acid

Gout is nearly always curable with medications which lower uric acid.
They need to be prescribed carefully in order to prevent flares while starting. Ask your doctor about these medications once you have been diagnosed with gout and are having frequent flares. Medications usually need to be continued long term or gout will come back.

Avoiding foods high in purine such as legumes (peas, peanuts) & brewer's yeast (beer) may help, but medications are mainstay of treatment. As a vegetarian, you're already avoiding meats, liver, kidney, sweetbreads.

In brief: Cherries

Try cherries and cherry juice.
Many of my patients find benefit from this. Feel better!
