In brief: Surgery

A gangion will not go away, and may simulate a tumor on a tendon which could be locally invasive.
Get is fixed by you local friendly orthopedic hand surgeon.

In brief: Surgery?

Best treatment option for permanent removal is surgery.
You can drain it too, but they recur more. In the darker days of medicine, doctors would smash them with a blunt object. Ouch!
