How long can I leave my 2-month-old baby crying without hurting her vocal cord? When cries her face's all red and looks as if she's suffocating?

In brief: Too young for crying

A 2-month-old baby is still too young to be left crying.
Parents should still do all the things they need to do to console the young baby. They should be sure the baby is not too hungry, not too full, not too cold, not too hot, not sick, not wrapped too tightly, and not too lonely. After the baby turns 3 months, parents can start stricter "bedtime" routines, as by then, most babies can be trained.

In brief: Doesn't hurt cords

It is a myth that infant crying hurts their body.
True, cheerleaders can lose their voice with vocal trauma, but don't apply that to babies.Crying infants should be assessed for fixable issues, like a poo diaper/fever/hunger etc. If not, and baby is simply tired- let them settle.Babies do not understand the concept of sleep until their 2nd yr, but can learn to settle in a comfortable setting by 6w.
