I've been prescribed aciphex (rabeprazole) but it is too expensive and there is not a generic for it. Is there an alternative?

In brief: Omeprazole
You can try Omeprazole generic and follow the directions.
It is over the counter.

you might need to take 2 of the OVER the COUNTER omeprazole to get the same effect as an ACIPHEX - but would STILL be more affordable long term... also explore non medicinal treatments - such as less caffeine, not smoking, eating smaller, more often meals, NOT over-eating - especially late at night, and even raising the head of the bed 3-5 inches. - but above all losing any excess weight is #1 !!!

In brief: Omeprazole
This is a generic proton pump inhibitor and has been shown to be effective and far less expensive than prescription drugs with essentially the same activity.
