Can you please tell me what exactly is COPD the disease and how is it different to asthma?

"obstruction" Both COPD and asthma are "obstructive" diseases - meaning that they make it hard to move air in and out of the lungs. COPD patients can have chronic bronchitis which is inflammation in the airways and/or emphysema which is disruption of the lung tissue due to smoking. COPD is almost always related to smoking. Asthma results from chronic airway inflammation - may be genetic or allergic.
