In brief: Weight loss surgery

Yes it is safe if done by an experienced surgeon.
It does require a big lifestyle change. No more junk food, sodas, you should eat much fewer carbs, and exercise regularly. It takes work, but the payoff is huge.

In brief: Has drawbacks

In lost decade remarkable progress has been made in wt loss surgery, but not a panacea has its own draw backs, has to know life style will be changed , once done rarely reversed , will need additional corrective surgery , has to be psychologically prepared, another criteria must under go months of non operative medical methods & failed.

In brief: Weight loss surgery

Weight loss surgery has matured over the past 40 years.
It is currently the most durable and successful method for long term weight loss. It is safer than heart operations and safer than hip operations. It has been performed laparoscopically for the past 10 years. It does change how quickly you eat, how much you eat, and your food choices. It is a complete lifestyle change forever.
