In brief: Fluid in the scrotum

A hydrocele is a collection of fluid that accumulates between two layers of tissue called peritneum that surrounds the testis and spermatic cord.
It results in swelling of the involved side of the scrotum and is sometimes painful. Causes vary from completely benign to more serious. It is thus very important that any new scrotal swelling be brought to your doctor's attention for further evaluation.

In brief: Sac of water

A hydocele means a little sac or pocket of water. It usually occurs as a result of inflammation from any number of things including infection, injury, illness, or defect.
In men, this term is usually heard when a soft (sometimes uncomfortable) lump is felt in the scrotum. This requires medical evaluation to make sure it's nothing more serious.

Around the testicle contained within a membrane called the tunica vaginalis.
By itself is benign. Sometimes associated with a testis tumor so that a scrotal ultrasound is recommended if testicle within the hydrocele can not be palpated.

In brief: It's...

Normally, there is always a small amount of physiological fluid inside the scrotum (between testis and scrotal wall) lined with a thin membrane, called, tunica vaginalis to lubicate testis and scrotal wall like lungs with chest wall; the amount of such fluid is regulated with naturally balancing its secretion and absorption.
If such balance is disturbed, fluid inside accumulates ti fill ; distend.
