I have asma and I have been told if I notice i'm cough for awhile its like a mini asma attack is this true?

Sometimes bronchospasm manifests itself with coughing either by itself or in conjunction with wheezing.
A persistent cough can be a sign of bronchospasm and asthma is recurrent bronchospasm so coughing can be a symptom of asthma exacerbation. It is not always less severe to have a cough rather than a wheeze so this should be treated like any other asthma exacerbation. (not a "mini attack").
