In brief: Attack all sides

The smoking habit has several aspects-- stress relief, physical addiction, and habits.
To be effective at quitting, people often need to find other ways to relieve stress such as exercise or relaxation. The effects physical addiction can be dealt with by nicotine products or by cutting back gradually. People also need to find something else to with their hands and their mouth.

Chantix , when used correctly, can help with the cravings and help eliminate withdrawal symptoms. See your PCP and discuss it.

In brief: See your PCP

Pcp stands for primary care physician.
Your treatment will be based on how addicted you are. For examlpe if you need your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking you may need a combination of nicotine replacement (patch, lozenge, or gum) and medication. Medication could be something like Chantix or bupropion. See your doc.
