Is there anything on the needles used in accupuncture, other than alcohol?

No. It is sterile and safe. Only danger would related to where the needle is inserted. For example, if the needle is inserted to an artery, there is danger of bleeding. Even then, it is such a fine tip that the danger of bleeding is much less than bleeding related to other trauma other risk of any fine needle is infection. Much times ther risk of acapuncture is really minimal.
Moxibustion. Sterile, single -use disposable needles are used. Sometimes smoldering mugworth can be pressed against the needles (or other substances) when moxibustion is performed.
