My LDL is 40-50 on 10mg lipitor (atorvastatin). My HDL is 34. I've tried everything--exercise, etc. Am I stuck w this? Fish oil? There has to be a way.
Lifestyle measures. The best way to raise cardioprotective HDL is cardiovascular exercise. Shoot for forty or forty-five minutes daily. Supplementation with no-flush Niacin may help as well, 2000 to 3000mg daily in divided doses, although this might lower your LDL more which would be unnecessary.
