In brief: Not strange

The ovary starts producing Progesterone after ovulation.
The Progesterone will cause the basal body temperature to rise about one-half degree fahrenheit. That temperature elevation persists until the Progesterone level falls, just before the menstrual period begins. Unless, as dr. Fielder points out, you happen to conceive - then the temperature will remain slightly elevated.

In brief: No

A woman's temperature remains slightly higher after ovulation until pregnancy doesn't occur. Then it will drop.
