In brief: See a GI

This could be gerd or reflux.
Try Omeprazole 40 mg/ d, low acid diet or anti reflux anti ulcer diet. But most likely you need to see the gastoenterologist to do esophagoscope egd or radiologic studies plus blood tests ( check liver, kidney function) sleep in semi sitting position. Avoid intraabdominally, pressure with elastics or girdles.

In brief: Gastritis/Ulcer?

This sounds like significant gastric reflux.
Any stomach irritation, from simple gastritis to ulcers, can cause this. Eating spicy or fatty foods, eating large amounts, using alcohol or caffeine, or obesity can all play a role. With this degree of symptoms, you should be evaluated and may need a medication, like omeprazole, or perhaps further testing with a gastroenterologist.
