The more, the worse
The more cigarettes you smoke, the more you are exposing your lungs to all of the toxins contained in them. Cutting back from 10 to 4 cigarettes a day is a good idea; i encourage you to do so.
That will bring you one step closer to quitting altogether one day. You might consider discussing nicotine
replacement therapy (like the patch) with your doctor, which can help make quitting easier.
