Both . Strict compliance with both diets results in significant amount of weight loss in 3 to 6 month period. Paleo diet causes more weight-loss initially but the values are pretty much the same in 3 to 6 months. Paleo diet is better for people who can eat everything including meats and mediterranean diet better for vegetarians.
