In brief: Varies
Some is hereditary.
Wermer's is very well-known but rare. The 1% or so of healthy people who carry ataxia-telangiectasia may go gray fast. Stress can produce telogen effluvium with more rapid hair turnover and (maybe) earlier gray. Nobody knows. Live a vibrant life, enjoying others and being enjoyable yourself, and your hair color makes no difference.

In brief: Graying of hair is
Related to genetic predisposition.
Age of initial graying is largely a matter of genetics. However stressors: nutritional deficiencies, chemotherapy, traumatic head injuries, low vitamin b levels, zinc deficiency, severe illness, surgery ; marked emotional stress may impact earlier depigmentation in people who are already predisposed to gray hair. Aging is a significant factor. In general –.
