In brief: Many menu items
Eliminate caffeine, alcohol, nicotine.
Check reversible causes [thyroid, low iron, other drugs like antidepressants, reglan, (metoclopramide) sleepy antihistamines like benadryl]. Stretch before bedtime. Other meds to try: cabergoline; pramipexole, gabapentin, pregabalin, clonidine, propranolol, iron [if your ferritin < 45], levodopa/carbidopa & carbamazepine. Wishing you restful sleep, no counting sheep!

In brief: Several options
Pramipexole works just as well as ropinirole.
If taken near bedtime, sleepiness is not usually a problem with either. Topiramate might be another option, as might gabapentin, though both could also cause sleepiness. Clonazepam may cause more sleepiness than ropinirole.

In brief: Clonazepam
Clonazepam is approved for rls.
You want to make sure there are not reversible causes of the RLS symptoms including other medications.
