Many parents are mildly obsessed over what is (for some kids) a normal amount of moisture or runny wax, which may be worsened by q-tip use.
A large amount of drainage may indicate an ear infection, particularly in the setting of prior ear tube placement. The only real way to know would be to have a physician evaluate her.
