Normal/ blood presure reading?

Normal vs average? 120/80 has been the "textbook" answer for many years for your question and which doctors get asked every day. However, the realistic answer in my opinion is that there is a wide range: for a petit female, a blood pressure of 90/50 is normal, whereas for a big football player, 140/90 may be normal and even then there's room for debate. Ask your family doctor what's appropriate and healthy for you.

Totally! BP usually falls as you keep taking because the act of taking it raises it! As you become more relaxed and your involuntary nervous system settles down, your BP falls. Note: All of your readings are normal! Congratulations! Read more...

Hello I'm a 27 year old female good health recently had my blood pressure checked and the reading have been low 90/55 my recent 93/55 is this normal?

Likely benign. If you have no other medical conditions and no symptoms that blood pressure is fine. Other symptoms would include lightheadedness, particularly when you are getting up. Other medical conditions would include known valvular heart disease or hormonal disease. If you have no other symptoms I wouldn't be concerned. If you develop symptoms or something changes, contact a health care provider. Read more...
