In brief: Several reasons

Pain in your lower abdomen, or pelvis, could be from your ovaries; but it could also be from other parts of your body (uterus, bladder, intestines etc.
) or other conditions. Finding out why you are having pain really requires evaluation by your doctor.

In brief: How do you know?

This is a common complaint for obgyns.
I always ask "how do you know it is your ovaries?" your ovaries are two very small organs deep in your pelvis. The rest of the pelvis is filled with intestines and your uterus making those two organs more common causes of pelvic pain. Schedule a visit to discuss all the different causes of pelvic pain.
