Why would sed rate be normal but c reactive protein be elevated if they both check for inflammation?

Different tests. CRP and Sed Rate are know to respond differently. Sed rate is elevated in bone and skin inflammation while CRP may be normal. Similarly in some inflammations Sed rate may be normal while CRP is elevated. You may visit this site for a technical publication:
