I had a tonsillectomy 10 days ago and I have a really dry mouth despite drinking plenty of water, chewing gum, and sucking on lozenges. Help any sugges?

Loss of salivation. Tonsillectomy can be associated with loss of few minor salivay glands or few nerve fibers that normally control the function of salivay glands (producing saliva). Loss of salivation makes your mouth dry but your body gradually compensates for the loss. Check again with your surgeon if the dryness continues or doesn't begin to improve in a week or two.
