I would like to know if it is normal to have a higher than average bpm heart rate when exercising. I am 36 and reach a 185bpm sometimes during spinning?

Heart rate . Yes it is expected and desired .
Okay. It is good that you exercise. It would be okay if you exercise at 80% of your maximum capacity. As your conditioning improves your resting heart rate will be lower and may be able to increase the intensity of exercise.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
