Why can't you prescribe adequate days supply of Apixaban 5mg for an 87 years old man online?

In brief: Bad practice

The various state medical boards require physicians to have an existing relationship with a patient, a retrievable record of any encounter, recent medical history & vital signs to prescribe any treatment.
Failure to have any of these can result in loss or restriction of medical license for dangerous practices. Why would you expect any doc to put their livelihood on the line for your convenience?

In brief: Start from the start

The safe way to think about online medical care is to start from the beginning.
That means the question to ask is: which patient, with which medical disorders, with what severity of disorders, under what kind of in-person doctor's care, with what amount of online care, would be safe to get an online prescription; for what drug, which dose, and how long? Online blood anticoagulation might be risky.
