In brief: Treatment...
Chronic bronchitis, a form of copd, is typically treated with bronchodilator and steroid inhalers as well as supplemental oxygen if the oxygen level in the blood is low.
Smoking cessation is a necessary part of treatment. There is no cure but symptoms can be managed with therapy so see your doctor for specific treatment as well as diagnosis.

In brief: Prevent & Control
Prevent symptoms and further loss of lung function by getting a flu and pneumonia vaccine.
These significantly reduce your chances of severe respiratory illness. 2nd, bronchodilators and inhaled steroids can reduce the shortness of breath and prevent "exacerbations". Finally, exercise to improve clearance of secretions. And oh yeah, if you smoked, and haven't already done so, stop smoking!
