In brief: Mirena IUD

The Mirena IUD may cause some menstrual irregularities, but there should not be continued "painful bleeding" unless the IUD is partially in the cervical canal.
With hysteroscopy, the canal will have been dilated , and the irritation may cause uterine contractions, which may have pushed the IUD into the canal. If this continues, see your physician again for possible removal.
