protect your lower back by wearing a brace before you lift something heavy or bend down repeatedly.
Then you stretch twice daily for at least 20-30 minutes to stretch out the back and neck muscles. Then when you are more comfortable, you can start strengthening those muscles with strengthening exercises specifically designed for people with chronic back pain. Last resort should be medications.
