If not on oral bcps, in mid-thirties the ovaries need more stimulation to ovulate, which produces more estrogen, and cells which line the uterus can infiltrate the uterine muscle walls: result heavier bleeding and cramps.
Ask your gyn about low dose oral bcp's, if there are no contraindications, as they will reduce considerably the bleeding and the cramps.
