In brief: Probably no risk

If the treatment has been controlling his HIV well, there is no risk of transmission, or very little.
Ask him about his viral load on treatment: if undetectable or very low, risk is nil and PEP unnecessary. Many couples stop using condoms in this situation, e.g. if trying to conceive. If in doubt, go together to his HIV doc or clinic; they’ll know if PEP is advised. Good luck!
