Hi I’m 8 weeks pregnant, can I get a scan at 8 weeks? 12weeks just seems so long to wait. Thanks Michelle

In brief: An ultrasound

Is no risk to you or the developing fetus.
You can have one safely at 8 weeks, although you might find resistance to ordering one just for curiosity sake. If you are bleeding, passing clots, or having persistent pelvic pain, see a physician for a scan right away. Otherwise, take a prenatal vitamin, avoid alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, and trust your body is doing as it should.
