Does zinc (20mg to 50mg a day) from the vitamin store help decrease acne? Is it worth a trying for a few months, in an otherwise healthy person?

In brief: NO!!

There is zero evidence that this therapy helps acne.

In brief: Yes

Zinc has been shown to have an effect in the dermatology literature since the early 70s on the archive of dermatology.
Vit is part of prescription vitamin supplements which include zone nicinamide and folic acid. An o/c brand is naturally clear which also a topical niacinamide spray which is equal in efficacy to benzoyl peroxide without the irritation.

In brief: Zinc and acne

What is the zinc acne connection? There are many who believe that zinc is very useful for people having acne because it is a mineral and it has been seen to reduce the symptoms of the condition.
However there are others who do not agree to this and say that there is hardly any relationship between zinc and acne. However recent research does not agree to this view. Zinc does reduce acne.
