Does Penicillin VK treat Group B Strep to any degree? I know it treats Strep Throat but will it help decrease amt of GBS in colonized pregnancy too?

Should be OK. Penicillin V (Pen VK) is very active against group B strep and probably will be effective. But your doctor probably will want to retest you after treatment is completed to make sure the GBS is gone.
Not in long term. Prior studies of oral antibiotic use have showed limited success.Pen V K will kill it at appropriate levels but the germ is prevalent in nature & often found in the stool. Re- colonization is frequent. As many as a 3rd of women are colonized at any time. The practice of giving IV antibiotics as soon as a woman presents in labor has dropped the newborn infection rate significantly.
