I have a cut that has a scab, will moisturising it help it heal quick and well? Can I use any moisturiser that I normally use?

In brief: Vaseline!

In my opinion, gently removing the scab with Vaseline over a few days and then keeping it moist with more Vaseline and a bandaid while it heals without a scab works best to leave as little scar as possible.
Watch for signs of infection (advancing redness around the wound or increasing pain) and good luck!
