I have neck pain, spasms. Difficulty swallowing, lips get numb, choking Sensation. Worse if I carry something heavy. Relief if I lay down.
Cervical Symptoms. What you describe sounds like a disorder of the cervical spine. Perhaps there is a slipped disc or some change in the spinal column. Try hot shower to neck, GENTLY turn side to side for 3 minutes/day. If not relieved, need to get this checked by orthopedist.
Can hyperthyroidism cause inflamed thyroid and cause difficulty swallowing, coughing, and choking sensation?
Yes. Hyperthyroidism can result from inflammation of the thyroid (subacute thyroiditis). There will be pain and swelling of the thyroid that can feel like a sore throat, and cause trouble swallowing.
