I had an abdominal MRI with contrast, is this the same as an MRCP or do I need an MRCP for pancreas/ Gall bladder evaluation?

In brief: MRCP

These tests are not the same.
The MRCP uses a special protocol to see the bile duct and the pancreas in better detail. It would not be seen this way on a regular MRI of the abdomen. If your physicians feel that you need a test specific for the bile ducts, they will order the MRCP. Good luck.
