Can I take hCG injections for weight loss while on lupron (leuprolide) for uterine fibroids?

Wouldn't recommend. It is one of the contraindications to this diet. If you want to undergo the diet you should have the surgery to treat the fibroids.
NO not advisable. I assume you are not on Lupron (leuprolide) if u are 54 yo i assume that age is a mistake because if u are 54 and have fibroids that need Lupron (leuprolide) they need to come out , but u cannot take HCG at the same time as depo- lupron (leuprolide).

I . I hope you are doing better or have already gone to the hospital as this question was posted 6 days ago. Your history doesn't disclose if the 4 units of blood was recent. I have fibroids that are very painful and it's causing me to lose sleep and my gyno suggested lupron (leuprolide) injections what are the pros and cons? I am 42yrs old and my periods are getting more painful each month.

Shrinkage. Lupron (leuprolide) will shrink your fibroids, but they will grow back after the medication is stopped. In addition, it will cause signs and symptoms of the menopause. Depending on the size of the fibroids, luprom is frequently used to shrink fibroids prior to definitive surgery to make the surgery easier. Read more...

Fibroids look like 5mnth pregnant I was told. I'll be visiting the gyn tomorrow. He insists that I shld ve lupron (leuprolide) shots but I want surgery myomectomy?

Hysterectomy, choice. With 5 months size uterus you are prone to have mentrual irregualities, especially excess bleeding . If single fibroid may be myomectomy-isolated removal of fibroid with leaving the rest of uterus in place is possible. But if multiple fibroids are there, uterus removal is choice considering pressure symptoms on the neighbouring organs like urinary bladder, intestines, ureters , can change to cancer. Read more...
Lupron (leuprolide) shrinks size. If your uterus is the size of a 5month pregnancy, you may have several large fibroids. Management is based on your symptoms and your desire for future pregnancies. Lupron (leuprolide) works well as it shrinks your fibroids and decrease blood flow to them. This is a great first step, especially if surgery to remove them may be in your future. It will make surgery easier and decrease your blood loss. Read more...

What can be used instead of lupron (leuprolide)? Bleeding again. 49. Fibroids. Hgb 7.5. Doc wants to do transfusion. I don't want lupron (leuprolide). Would progesterone work?

No. In your case, i suspect the reason your doctor is using Depo-Provera Lupron (leuprolide) is to reduce the size of your fibroids. This is often done to make a hysterectomy technically easier. Progesterone wouldn't have the same effect. I sometimes use higher dose oral contraceptives to stop a single bleeding episode, but this is not a long term solution. I agree with transfusion and at least consideration of a hyst. Read more...

I am 52, was on lupron (leuprolide) depot to shrink fibroids before sugery. Diagnosed with et. Is there a way to bring on natural menopause?

No. The average menopause in the us is 51.3 years old, so you should be close to your own natural menopause. The use of depo-lupron prior to surgery can shrink fibroids as much as 40-50% and make the surgery easier, especially if the fibroids are large. At 52, rather than removing the fibroids, you may consider tah+bso; thus eliminating the 3rd, 4th and 5th causes of cancer in women. Just a thought. Read more...

Told devolped a fibroid while taken lupron (leuprolide) for 3 months. Could this be something else, since lupron (leuprolide) shirnks fibroids and not lets them grow?

Fibroids and Lupron (leuprolide) Not all fibroids will shrink on lupron (leuprolide). This may be a fibroid which was not seen prior to treatment, one which is not very sensitive to estrogen, or another process. The best way to look at this would be with ultrasound or, if ultrasound does not give the answer, mri. Read more...

Consider UFE. Fibroid embolization is minimally invasive (no surgery) and you would not be on hormones such as Lupron (leuprolide) or depo. Your diet is not going to make your fibroids go away nor will homeopathic medicine. You could consider surgery (as you are) or look into uterine fibroid embolization (ufe) as www.Ask4ufe.Com or www.Sirweb.Org. Read more...
