I recently starting taking dr. Weil's multivitamin many of the dialy % is way over the maximum like vitamin b1, b6, b12, b2 vitamin C, is this ok?

Safe vitamins. All the "b" and c vitamins are water-soluble, so that your body will excrete any that it does not need. "% daily value" is a level the fda determines for preventing deficiencies, not to support optimal functioning. Amounts that exceed this "% daily value" would be what dr. Weil & company feel is more physiologically helpful and safe. For more about vitamin labels: http://tinyurl.Com/mpqbaj7. Read more...
TOTALLY SAFE!!! The recommended daily intake (rdi) of vitamins is the amount that will prevent gross deficiency symptoms in healthy people but has nothing to do with the optimal doses for health & prevention. There is strong evidence that people benefit from doses much higher than the rdi. Dr. Weil is actually quite conservative & you can be certain that the doses in his supplements are perfectly safe.See comment:. Read more...

Best multivitamin for a 60 yo man? And is it good to take vitamin c.

My personal favorites include Ultranutrient from Pure Encapsulations (not on that list!), Ultrapreventive X, and Life Extension Mix. Additional D (in fall/winter) & Vit C is wise. Read more...

Is it okay to take more than one vitamin C tablet per day on top of a multivitamin if it says on the vitamin C bottle to only take one a day?

Follow directions. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin and is not stored in the body like fat soluble vitamins, (A, E, D, and K) so it unlikely that you will overdose. Since you are already taking a multivitamin that has vitamin C you should follow the directions on the bottle. Read more...

How come a multivitamin is the same size of an individual vitamin? In other words, how come my multivitamin, which contains all sorts of vitamins, is the same size as just a vitamin c?

Size. Vitamins ,in terms of mass, are mostly ingredients other than the actual vitamin molecule(s). Things such as binders, preservatives, flavorings, colorings, hardeners, etc. Read more...
