I am experiencing passing gas and stomach cramps.

Gassy & crampy. Feeling gassy/crampy may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Watch your diet. To start I would watch your diet. Some foods are known to cause bloating and gas (dairy, cabbage, etc.) and for some individuals it can be other specific foods. After eating coliflower sometimes I get gas and stomach cramps, burping is this gastritis, if so what should I do I love vegatables?

Maybe intolerance. Seemingly your belly is just not agreeing with cauliflower. Most people have some degree of disagreement with certain foods. What you described is not gastritis. If you have excessive gas/belching with this, gas-x may help. Also, eat a bit less of this to see if it helps. Fortunately, there are plenty of other veggies around--i like them too. Veggies up to a healthier you! good luck. Read more...

I have woken up with severe stomach cramps and gas each night and morning for a while now, what could be causing this and how do I make it stop? Its ruining my sleep. Thank you.

Food. Take metamucil 1 tablespoon with a full glass of water at dinner time. Stop eating all processed foods like cereals, crackers, bread, chips etc. These get digested very quickly and the bacterial use the sugars for food with the byproduct of gas. Stop carbonated beverages. If that fails see your internal medicine specialist. Read more...
