In brief: Stye

Sounds like you are describing a stye on your eyelid.
Warm compresses for 10 minutes 4 times a day to the area can be helpful. For definitive diagnosis and treatment follow up with your regular doctor.

In brief: Hordeolum or stye

a stye is a localized infection of the hair follicles of the eye lashes (external hordeolum) or meibomian glands (internal hordeolum) and usually starts with a diffuse redness and swelling which then localizes to a pimple.
Warm compresses several times a day will help to resolve the infection more quickly. Eye makeup or frequent rubbing the eyes from allergy or irritation are often causes.

In brief: Hordeolum

You may have a hordeolum externum which has developed from a hordeolum, or style.
Wash your eyelids four times a day with baby shampoo and cotton balls, hot compress 4x a day for 10 minutes and see your MD. I usually give antibiotic drops for 7 days and artificial tears. Any ocular pain or change in vision see Ophthalmology.
