In brief: Dietician

Your best course would be to make a single appointment with a registered dietician at your local hospital.
She will determine your eventual ideal weight goal, critique your eating habits and calculate your proper daily calorie intake taking into consideration your daily physical activity. A proper diet will be outlined for you. Remember that it's best to lose fat tissue at a slow, steady pace

Peer support can be valuable in weight loss. Sometimes it takes more that one dietician appointment to establish a healthy approach to weight loss.

In brief: Avoid rapid wt loss

Rapid weight loss is not advisable.
You could end up with yo-yo weight loss followed by gain. Sustained weight loss of .5 to 2 lbs a week is ideal. Consider trying Weight Watchers that emphasizes lifestyle changes instead of diet alone.
