In brief: Clues only

Appendix pain will always be on the right side.
Pain from an ovary (or other gynecologic problem) can be either side, often both. Other clues include nausea, vomiting, vaginal discharge or odor, painful urination, previous history of similar pain, and so on. All new, unexplained abdominal or pelvic pain requres medical evaluation ASAP. If severe, vaginal bleeding, or fever, see a doctor right now.
