MRI scan said subtle changes to central spinal cord, what could this be? It says no neural compression in any of the spine, does this rule out a Tumor? Thanks

In brief: Varies

There are multiple potential causes for signal changes with in the spinal cord.
It can even be artifact and so you would want to make sure you had a good quality, high resolution Mri with contrast to ensure the finding is even real. Followup with a neurologist for a detailed exam and to discuss the Mri findings would be recommended.

In brief: ComplexQuestion.B12?

The answer has a lot of subtlety & will depend heavily on SYMPTOMS that you are experiencing.
So use HealthTap Prime or talk to the doctor who ordered the MRI scan to go over your question & MRI results. In general, a spinal tumor of any significant size will press on the cord ("neural compression"). Signal changes could be signs of nerve damage from other causes: syringomyelia, myelopathy, others
