In brief: Dark stool?

Is it normal to have dark stool 1 week after gallbladder surgery ? ANS: Not sure what "dark" means in Simi Valley lingo.
So if ur stools were light or even white then your gall was not getting into your gut from your gall bladder (stones)- which is what makes it brown. If dark means black then it is not normal and suggests bleeding high up in gut. If dark red then lower. Have Dr translate.
